HE and I

one thing we miss about Utah is the SWEET Jazz tickets lane would get from work. Nothing better than free parking, a free meal, free concessions, free sody's, and kick butt seats!

OK I got hit with this one a few months back and am going to get it done so I stop thinking about it.........(sorry Annie it has taken me FOR EV ER!)

-What is his name? Lane
-How long have you been married? It will be 6 years in August
-Who long did you date? We dated 4 months and then were engaged 4 months

-How old is he? 29. Yes, I am a whole year and 3 months older than he is

-Who eats more sweets? Depends on what it is. Lane loves food but gets bored of eating it quickly and that is something I doubt I will ever get bored of doing!

-Who said I love you first? He did, I didn't say it back (i said something real lame) and so he later tried to back track on what he said.... That is when I told him he couldn't cuz I loved him too!
-Who is taller? Him luckily! That would be REAL sad if he was shorter than 5'2"!
-Who can sing better? We both kinda suck in that department.

-Who is smarter? Hmm, well I am going to say he is (cuz I am SMART and I know he reads this)

-Who does the laundry? Me. I don't do very good on getting it folded in a timely matter but I sure toss it in and yank it out!
-Who pays the bills? I use to till I gave that task over to him. He likes it done on spread sheets and very professional (which I am not) and so I told him if he knew of a better way (than just calling the bank occasionally to see how much we had) than he ought to give it a go. I must say he is VERY good at it and I should learn how to use his program he created for it.

-Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? right now he does. We have moved so much that it changes from place to place.... I am always by the door.

-Who mows the lawn? He does but only cuz we got a cool new riding lawnmower from my dad! Actually he did the mowing at our Utah house too. I am a good watcher though!
-Who cooks dinner? Me, unless we are having take out.... we have so many options here ya know.

-Who drives? I RARELY do and NEVER on road trips. He thinks I am a horrible driver. I really am not... I don't know what it is but I am a worse driver when he is in the car with me while driving. For some reason that is when I seem to have the most close calls!

-Who is more stubborn? Hmmmm depends but over all probably me.
-Who kissed who first? I knew he wanted to, I just helped him out a little (his sister told me that it took him over 6 months to kiss his last girlfriend... I did NOT have the time to wait to see if it was going to make or break us!)

-Who asked who out first? I sorta did. I told him I was going to be down in Provo (i lived in slc) and so if he wanted to go to dinner we could) I totally changed my plans so I could be so I sorta tricked him I guess.
-Who proposed? He did, on the roof of the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. I wasn't sure which ring he got me (we looked at a few) and so I kept trying to take a little peek to see if it was the one I TRULY wanted.... and it was!

-Who wears the pants? ummmm probably Dawson (our 4 year old)
OK ~ I tag Cassie, Bobbi, Geri, Becky, and Luly!!

Lane got it this time...

Toby and Becky got us this time... but since I have done this one before I decided to turn the time (or post) over to Lane entirely..... Most of the answers are from him.... might be a few that I added for him....ENJOY! this is his favorite pic of him and the boys... he thinks they look so young and sweet!

What was he doing 10 years ago?

He was on his mission in Tokyo, Japan.
He got there in January and so that pretty much sums up his entire year.....
He was proselyting
with his "lurpy 6ft. 4in. white companion.

5 things on his to do list:

1-finish doing our hardwood floor in our house.
2-finish working on our budget
3-figure out how to get me to keep with in the budget
4-set up a few more appts. for his next business trip.
5-take me on a date!

His favorite snacks:

-nuts (mostly sunflower seeds, pine nuts, pistachios, cashews, peanuts, and almonds)
-soda soda soda....
-he loves the grandma cookies (with pink frosting AND a 3,000 calories!)

3 bad habits:

1-not having any bad habits
2-not being humble about not having any bad habits
3-reminding my wife of the fact that I don't have any bad habits as I am pointing out hers!

What would he do if he became a billionaire?

-HIRE someone to install our wood floors and tile!!
-Buy myself a NICE watch

-Invest it
-Finish our basement
-Buy us another car
-Pay my tithing....of course first
-Pretend I was poor so "friends" wouldn't come out of the wood works begging
-Help my family out wherever needed
-Travel with my family
-Go to Japan to see my parents on their mission

Some things you don't know about him:

-That he SERIOUSLY doesn't think he has any bad habits.
-That he is really a billionaire.....(uhhh yeah right)
-That he is NOT always as good looking and charming as he may appear.
-That he use to work in the women's shoe department at Dillard's.
-That he is the baby of his family of 5 kids.
-He is seriously a GREAT artist!

Ok that wasn't as painful as I thought to get out of him....although, I think I hear him snoozing right now and I am NOT even joking!!
I guess I will have to ask him who he would like to tag tomorrow..... goodnight.

SOLD

It is true my friends..... after 11 LONG months of having our house on the market.... TODAY the papers were signed and we are FREE (of that mortgage)!
You see, this wouldn't be such a HUGE relief or such a glorious day EXCEPT that we have had our house under contract (thinking it was sold) 3 different times and more than 10 offers!!!! Yeah, can you say enough to drive someone INSANE?!?!
I have to say, that this last year has been the MOST stressful time of my life! (and lane's i am sure, but he holds it together better than i do!) I have had sooo many sleepless nights and anxiety attacks cuz the thought of 2 mortgages was almost to much for me to bare! Lane and I were talking about how the most frustrating part of it all was "thinking" we had it sold 3 times and then because of finances and the lending companies buckling down so tight (so people couldn't afford the mortgage with the added mortgage insurance) and then having it crumble on us every time!!! Soooo I quit telling people that we had buyers when I realized that meant nothing...... til the papers were signed, sealed, and delivered!
Our home we are building will be done soon so the timing was PERFECT. Well, not perfect. 1 month after putting it on the market would have been perfect BUT it is a HUGE blessing to have it sold now so no complaining for us!
I will miss our Orem house and hope that the people moving in are GREAT neighbors to our friends that are still there! There are a lot of people out there that are not Utah fans but I am one. I love the mountains, I loved our area, I love my in laws that are there, and the restaurants!
I am sorry for all of you that were sooo excited to hear "my secret" and are let down to know it is just this. But for those of you that know how long and what we have gone through to get it sold you probably understand why this is such WONDERFUL news and deserved its very own post!!
Also, this is good news for everyone!! Now you don't have to worry us calling you and asking to borrow $$! (hehe)
Thanks for being patient and waiting til Thursday. I didn't want to jinx us AGAIN!

Incase you were wondering

It is still COLD and there is still lots of SNOW here! I love change in weather. I have always lived in places that the weather changes with each season. Idaho, Utah, and Wisconsin. I can't imagine life with out it really BUT I am READY for it to CHANGE again!!! Spring, oh spring we miss you and are ready when you are!

Here is a poem that my Gma sent me that is fitting..... not sure who wrote it?? I think it is called "Idaho poem".

It's winter in IDAHO
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love IDAHO
when the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave IDAHO
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!

Who Moved My Cheese?

I could not find the cheese that I was about to grate for our taco's for dinner tonight and found this.........

I have one kid that does NOT like cheese and another that can't get enough! I swear he would have finished off that brick if I didn't snatch it from him!

A little professional

I left my camera on our dresser down in our room and while I thought the boys were relaxing a bit before bed I came down to a photo shoot of Dawson taken by Cole. Here are just a few of the 32 he took (i counted)
It looks to me that Daws was enjoying himself a little Playhouse Disney while Cole thought of something more productive to do. It must have annoyed Daws cuz he was yelling my name and when I got to the scene he said "please make my brother STOP bugging me!" Here is me coming to his rescue..... (that little rascal got one of me in action)
He still hasn't forgiven me for taking it from him. I guess he has a passion, but I have decided to wait til he turns 3 to let him spread his wings and fly with our expensive items!

We are getting there!!

Here is another update on where we are with out house sitch.... VERY exciting! We haven't taken any pics since our tile has been in. We need to thank Lee and Russell for their expertise!! Thanks guys, I am glad you showed my husband how to do it correctly... I might have been very sad if he just went for it with out instructions! Next to come is our hardwood floor and cupboards and paint (which they are starting tomorrow) Boy am I pumped!

BOOOOO

So this is me.... (picture taken by our little Coley man) I have been in bed for two days and when I am not in bed I really wanna be in bed! I went to the doc today and sure enough... influenza! Dangit! So after my meds., all 3 of my boys meds. (preventative) and little Gma's meds. (preventative as well) My insurance on this certain medication sucks! 80bucks per percription! I almost returned mine, then I realized I HATED achy body, headaches, back ache, runny nose, dry coughing, the pressue in my lungs, and TOTAL exhastion so I gave them my money and said "Thanks!"
Here is to a speedy recovery! (i am trying that positive energy thing out)
