Ground Breaking News!!

Lane has been so very excited to get going on some yard work. He bought a few trees last week and when my dad dropped them off he had the holes ready to plant! This one is in our front yard and it is Dawson's tree.

And four to go!!
Actually we have planted 2 more and only have 2 left! Dawson thought that it was a great idea that everyone in the family get their own tree to plant. So we had to go buy another one to total 5! That is right, we are going to be a family of 5! April 2nd is the due date and even though I have been SUPER DUPER sick and feel gaggy most the time we are VERY excited!
I will have to take a picture of all them when they are all in the ground...

How could I forget....

The Utah State Fair!!! There is something about a fair that sure makes ya feel like a kid again! I remember going to the Blackfoot fair growing up and it just being so exciting! Going back (to the SLC) fair wasn't as exciting as I remember it being years ago but it was still FUN! It is amazing how much money you can blow at one of these suckers! The boys rode a few rides and really enjoyed themselves!

I was wondering.... was the day after surgery a little too soon to let Cole hop on a roller coaster?? NAHHH! He loved it and the airplanes and the train ride! I highly recommend the little 4H club farmer theme maze they had going there. Sooo fun for the kids. Quite educational and it was TOTALLY free! They even got to buy a treat at the end with the fake money they made doing all the farming chores and planting and picking veggies out of the garden... too cute!

LeAnn and Lane enjoying some good ol' fair grub!
OK lets just talk about the fried ravioli I enjoyed! (yes i said FRIED) Honestly if I wasn't jam packed full I would have gone back for MORE! By far the best fair food I have ever had! That being said, I did about crap when I got 6 ravioli's and a diet coke and the bill came to 10bucks! 7 bucks for those little suckers.... but I would do it again!

Let's do it again next year shall we?!?

The Chukars

So I was going through my camera and forgot about this little evening we had this summer! We didn't make it to all the games but the ones we did the boys had a "ball"! Daws was ever so pumped that he caught the ball that came our way! (well he didn't catch it in mid air of course, but he did snag it off the ground after it had bounced a few times)

It was a big year for these fella's! Both Coley and Rook decided NOT to be afraid of Charlie the Chukar!! What brave little dudes!

The BIG 5!

September 13th. The day we have been hearing about for MONTHS! The day Dawson turns 5!! The day he runs faster, the day he is stronger, the day he grows bigger, and the day he gets smarter! What a GREAT day!

Well, it stared off REAL early! He came in our room about 6am asking if he could play with this floam stuff Gma Lucy got him. Well, while playing with that he realized... HEY, I have other presents to open! So he then begs to open them. Sorry dude, not at 6am! If you know me, that is WAY too early even for opening presents. So I told him he had to wait til the clock said 7:00 (hoping he would fall back asleep.) No such luck. He opened our blinds in our room and said the sun is out guys GET UP! Then he went and woke up Cole and our day began!

He got a bike (a few weeks ago) for his birthday and has been loving his upgrade! His other one was way to small for a 5 year old! He also loved his other gifts and was all smiles.

For breakfast he chose Swedish pancakes with powdered sugar and they were delish! I then went to help my mom at the Mini Bazaar and the boys went out to my parents to watch the BYU game (wowza by the way!).

They came back into I.F. to pick me up and we went to Blast Off. (what mother forgets her camera on her first sons 5th birthday?? me!) It was a lot of fun. The boys were playing hard and running like crazy. You order Pizza Hut pizza while there and they deliver it for you and it took forever!! I am talking like 2.5 hours! Are you kidding me?! Good thing we weren't super duper hungry or things coulda got real ugly. The lady was real real nice and gave us our money back (16bucks) for the pizza and gave us 2 play passes to come back and 20 extra tokens and free root beer! I guess it pays to be patient and not complain!
The boys were loven playing every game in there 8 times each! Lane and Daws hit jackpot and won 374 tickets on one game! So when we turned in our tickets the boys had some good pickens with 652 tickets! Even I was a little excited about the winnings!
Then on our way home... they both fell asleep and are snug in a bug in their beds.... FUN day!
Lane makes their cakes every year and was bummed with this one. I thought it was still pretty cute. Daws really isn't into Pirates or Ships BUT this is what Lane found at the dollar store so this is what he got! He had a dragon one last year so when he asked for another one this year Lane didn't want to have to live up to it.

Love ya D-Dawg! I am grateful for you in our home and for the great example you are to your little bro. You are such a thoughtful little guy and so aware of others. You are a smart 5 year old and we are sure proud of ya!
(p.s. I can't believe I have a 5 year old....weird!)

Brave little Buddy

So as you may or may not know, little Coley had to have surgery last Thursday morning. It wasn't anything MAJOR but something that needed to be done and that we had just been putting off. Well, we decided it was time and made the pre visit and scheduled the time and all went well! I know that there are plenty of mothers and children out there that go through much much worse things than a same day surgery but for some reason I was VERY nervous and kind of emotional! He was honestly such a little trooper which made it sooo much easier on us. Daws came with us cuz he wanted to be his brothers helper and retrect (protect) him.

I had to take a little picture of his hospital jammies from every angle cuz he just hated them! He kept saying "I don't want to wear this stuff!" And then he got all annoyed when we put it on and said, "It's for gewls.. NOT BOYS!" I thought he looked cute in it though....

He absolutely hated the socks the most. They were kinda odd with the traction on both sides and BIG enough for Lane or I to wear them... but he kept them on.

By the end of it he was modeling it for us cuz we were laughing so hard at his annoyance he was having about wearing such a stupid thing.

In the waiting room we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited.....

So we decided to color and drive the cars and play with the kitchen set and watch the movie they had going and play with the balls and play with a stroller and 2 little dolls and build things with rubber blocks. And THEN.....

The Doc and staff arrived! This is actually his anesthesiologist and the 2 cutest nurses ever. They were so great to help him feel cozy and let his brother be a part of everything. I thought it was cute that they pull them down the hall to and from surgery in these wagons. Makes it less intimidating for them I think. Daws thought that this hospital experience was FUN!

Here is Dawson in the recovery room waiting patiently for Cole to wake up. He asked every few minutes, "Ask the nurse if he is ok." So they gave both boys these little dolls (in the waiting room) to color faces on and make them special. So Daws was quite proud of his. Not sure if those spikes are eyebrows or a spikey hawk going on with his doll. Coles just had 2 circles for eyes and a line for a mouth.

It took him a good 40 minutes to wake up after surgery. The nurse said he was his best patient of the day! (i realized it was because he was the only one that slept the whole time of recovery)

Here is Dawson still patiently waiting for his little buddy to wake up so he could talk his ear off like he usually does. He was pumped about his Root beer slushie the cute nurse gave him.

"Mom! He is ALIVE!" and them me SHHH don't freak him out! Daws instantly jumped up in his bed and told him about everything that happened the 3 hours he had missed. They gave him apple juice to make sure he could keep it down since he hadn't eaten anything ALL day! We got there at 7:30am and he was ready to roll about 2pm.

Just a little brotherly bonding time before we released. He looks so loopy and exhausted! (both of them do actually)

And then the grand exit in nothing but the "Radio Flyer" What a great hospital and wonderful staff Primary Children's Hospital has.
He had a VERY tired rest of the day and kinda floppy BUT he is back in action and hasn't missed a beat since! I am so proud of my little buddy and I am glad it all went so well!
(if you are wondering what surgery he had... it was a hypospadias... look it up.)
actually don't look it up.... you will see some porn!!! SORRY!

Just wanted to give my hunka burnin love a Big Ol' Happy Birthday!
He turned 30 today and can now stop teasing me that I am SOOO much older than him. (i am only 1 year and 3 months older, but he likes to pretend that I wore puffed sleeves to my Senior Prom with a side pony)
Thanks for being such a GREAT husband, dad, and friend! You make me laugh everyday and are patient enough to put up with me. You make the BEST chicken Katsu and everyone thinks so! You are very helpful and it doesn't go unnoticed (even though i forget to tell you thanks most the time!)
Hope you had a GREAT birthday and loved all your gifts! The boys were so excited for you to get home to see your cake and your gifts!
Since I didn't buy you a card this year... I hope this will do!
Gotta go give ya your birthday kisses now.....mwhaaa! (hehe)

Bear Lake

First off a big ol' THANKS to my mom and my dad for putting this little family trip together! My mom decided that we had better start doing family reunions. We have them all the time with her side of the family and they are fun. As the families are getting bigger and bigger it is harder and harder to get us all together. So we all took some time off and headed for Bear Lake. Cassie and her family live in Ohio so it isn't easy for them to load it up and head on over! We missed them a lot and wished they could have come!

We got there and the boys were mostly excited to be OUT of the car! We played a little bit before everyone else arrived.

Then more peeps showed up and found a cool little wagon deal that Gma was so cool to give rides! I pretended to be busy so I didn't have to take a turn!

Cole took Jayce on a little tour of the area and made sure he made it back to the cabins safely!

Once more of the cousins showed up they helped themselves to a little playtime on the little swing set that the poles moved when they swung....they didn't notice though.

He had been eyeing down the sand, buckets, and shovels all day... the inner kid couldn't hold back!

Mr. build it (well more create it) man came along to help the kids build a sand castle... they are taking notes.

Here is a picture of the work in progress...

Hey Beach Babes! (notice i did not attach one of me... and if anyone that went on this trip does... you will wake up tomorrow with NO eyebrows, i promise!)

Hey Daws! Taking a little break from the water fun? Didn't last more than a minute laying there!

Back in action... sooo many shells to collect! (oh crap i need to get the little smelly baggy of them out of my trunk!

He did get up twice.... once to eat lunch and once to take my mom for a crazy jet ski ride!

Cole was going strong all day long with all his cousins.

That is a mighty big hole for 2 little fella's.... I think they were diggen for treasures aka smelly shells!

Rookie and Zoey digging their own hole and filling it with water!

Heya boys! Anyone up for some relaxing?

Cole and Rook made sure the back net was nice and secure before we loaded everything back up!

Did I mention that it was kinda chilly at times during the day at the beach? This is when we were rapping things up to head on out.

What a COOL Gma! She rode in the back of the truck to and from the beach! Even after her hair looked so nice... what a champ!

We got back, showered, had dinner and played a little baseball with everyone.

We got up early the next morning and went to church. It was a big ol ward, but I did wonder how many of them were like us and were only visiting. (oh yeah, i forgot my bag with my shampoo, conditioner, face wash, brushes, blow dryer, flat iron, etc. that is why I look like I have been at the beach instead of church.)
Here is a family shot of us in front of #9. This was a great place to stay. Every fam got their own cabin and they are all by each other!

This is Tilly. She was waiting for us on our front porch. She welcomed us immediately and followed us around the whole time. Rook loved her the most!
We then went down to Garden City for lunch. We went to Bear Lake Pizza and got the biggest pizza we had ever seen! Sorry no pics. I think Becky got one or my mom though. It was 28inches round! We got it for all of us and still had enough left over for 3 of us to take some home! It was quite tasty too!

The end.
